Max and Cleone Pengelley have made Lywood House their family home for eighteen years and for the past eleven years have been welcoming Wolsey Lodge guests to stay with them.
Lywood House is an elegant 14th century timber-framed Sussex Hall House set in 25 tranquil acres of its own grounds. The drawing rooms and bedrooms offer views of the formal gardens with sweeping lawns and paddocks beyond. There is a secluded outdoor swimming pool.
A walk in the garden is always worthwhile, whatever the time of year. Cheerful spring bulbs are followed by vibrant pink camellias and fragrant roses and pastel border plants in summer.
Lywood House is a convenient
place to stay for travellers using Gatwick Airport (25 minutes).
Trains can be met by arrangement at Haywards Heath Station nearby. (London
50 minutes).
